Project 1

Jewellery Department

Introduction

This is an interdisciplinary project, students from different department which include Fashion, Architecture and Jewellery design, was divided into groups and a task to design and manufacturer the jewellery piece from scratch metal given. The whole process of their endeavor should consider the SDG's agenda. Below is the actual brief which was given to the groups.

Sustainable Materiality and Performativity
Brief 

Part A.
As discussed during the workshop at the Jewellery Design Department dated 22 February 2022, utilize the 'lifespan' model to inform the design of a wearable object(s) or jewellery piece(s), that applies sustainable design ideas by making use of more/sustainable materials and production methods. 

Part B. 
In addition, you are required to produce documentation of process in the form of a chart/diagram that explains and depicts the 'lifespan' of your piece. This should include pre-life, life and afterlife of the piece(s).

The object or jewellery piece should follow the techniques and conventions of the contemporary jewellery field - consider form, function, weight, comfort, size, finish, suspension or fastening etc. 

You are allowed to use alternative materials but the copper and brass provided, should feature as the 'hero' of your piece(s). 
 
To produce the piece(s) your groups' jeweller will have access to the Post Grad jewellery studio. They are allowed one companion from the group. The remaining group members are welcome to support the jeweller by completing assigned tasks related to part A or B of this brief.

Project 2
Fashion Department

Introduction

Students were divide into group of 4, and given a a A3 technical sketch of the jacket. The group were given another extra paper to use to make their own jacket with the help of technical sketch given. The whole idea was to take consideration sustainable


aspect in these case material usage. We had to avoid wasting material, we have to use all the paper which was availed.


Tracing the design from the template. Using a scissor to cut different section of the jacket.

After cutting all sections, carefully folding all the parts which need to be folded, then assembling all parts together to make a jacket. Then finally including some designs to make our jacket unique from other groups.
